The 2002 Gig
£1,600 was raised for Derian House Children's Hospice at the 2002 gig.
The concert proved to be a highly musical and interesting affair with the entire band stripping down to their underwear! A donation of £200 guaranteed the strip - The evidence is shown in the pictures below - we don't disappoint...
The Police
That's the band not the arresting type!
The first part of the musical entertainment was a tribute to the Police. The classic band from the 70's and 80's is still a firm favourite as the band consisting of Roman, Stephen and Matt powered their way throught the classic Police songs. Roxanne, Walking On The Moon, Message In A Bottle, Every Breathe You Take all went down a storm with fantastic audience participation!
RSD - Roman Szafranski/Stephen Dowd
Performed 3 tracks from their CD
Next it was the turn of RSD to play some of their own tracks. With Simon Campbell guesting on guitar, RSD performed the tracks Why, Higher and Where are you now. All three of these tracks are featured on the CD higher which was sold on the night to help raise money for the cause. People bought the CD and some of you even like it !!
The One Big Jam Band - A blue experience
Next it was the turn of the One Big Jam Band, a collection of musicians lead by Simon Campbell. Dan 'Boy Band' Fielding pumped out the bass with Steve 'Wind Boy' Dundun blowing on his flute. Steve 'Organ Boy' Dowd played with his organ! The blues was the name of the game with old classics such as Route 66 and Lay down Sally being performed to the knowledgeable crowd - Great fun, big noise...
Kit Off
Dodgy underwear spotted
By the end of the night it only seems natural that the band should be down to the duds. The taxi driver who appeared to witness these proceedings was shocked at first and then highly amused !!
